PHYL 2041 Lecture Notes - Lecture 5: Ciliary Muscle, Choroid, Sclera
Document Summary
Phyl2041: ss1 - the eye, optics, retina, phototransduction. The outside of the eye is covered with sclera (white stud). The front of the sclera becomes more transparent, and is filled with a watery fluid, and forms the first layer of the cornea. The colored muscle of the eye is the iris and the hole that is in the middle of the iris is referred to as the. The lens focuses the light that comes in, and the lens is stabilized by the ciliary muscle. Behind the lens is the eye chamber, which has the function of making a space for the focusing system. The back is the retina, which goes around the outside of the eye so that light from almost every direction can be seen. The fovea is the depression and the specialization that is at the back of the eye, and behind it, is the dark structure (choroid).
