Wild Fire In BC, significant wild fires  Prone to interior of BC due to dry weather  Trees that are prone to explosive fires when they start burning  2003, long hot dry summer; extensive forest fires o Many of these fires destroyed a few houses in Kelowna o Firefighters put at significant risk  People want to live in interface areas; outskirts of town o Puts you at significant risk when forest fire In California, people love to live in the hills  Have definite fire ecosystem  Builds up oil; once it burns, burns really well o Some seeds need to be burnt
