Majority of irish are catholic, protestant minority concentrated in usler. Usler is the industrial heartland of ireland. Protestants control majority of land despite being minority. Ireland apart of great britain, catholics want to get out of this. Home rule tried twice for this, 1886 and 1892 failed both times. Physical force tradition use force to kill the brits. Usler unionists last if 3 big groups push for home rule. Home rule, 1912 passes this time get control over all of their domestic affairs. Britain will still control everything else delayed for 2 years in 1914, however, wwi breaks out. Usler unionists unhappy therefore, they arm themselves in 1913, gun running two-armed camps. Dublin issued proclamation, brits in the middle of wwi, not amused. Moved in, crushed the rebellion bombed the buildings. Irish built trenches in public park, british shot the ppl in the trenches.
