Hallucinogens: produce altered perception also similar to stimulants (shroomes) Some drugs have effects typical of more then one category. Drug action: refers to the interactions of the drug with its receptors. Drug effects: are the resulting behavioral, cognitive, and emotional changed that are produced following drug action. Nonspecific effects: derivers fro the users background, expectations, perceptions and environment. Specific effects: depends on the presence of a chemical at certain concentrations. Placebo effects: are those produced by an inactive chemical that the user believes to be a drug. Placebos can be used in programs for treatment of drug addiction.
