Components of a circulation system: 3 components are essential fluid that needs to be transported and circulates in the system. 1: one or more pumps that generate pressure to drive flow. 1. that bring fluid from pump to body parts: arteries arterioles capillaries that collect fluid from body parts. 1. capillaries are site of gas exchange capillaries venules veins. 3. separation of ventricular chamber is complete: 1 pump for lungs, 1 pump for the rest of the body including the heart, reptiles, separation of the two bloods, but still some mixing. Lymphatic system and circulation: blood is under pressure, some squeezes through spaces in adjacent cells. Lymph: lymphatic system collects it and returns it to bloodstream. Pooling effect when standing for a long time tight skin helps. 2: effect eliminated by outside pressure, don"t stand out in water greater pressure than air, capillaries not affected by pressure changes larger cross-sectional area.
