Montreal is one of the most prominent places for the occurrence of freezing rain. Air to our northeast is cold and dry. Infrared can differentiate from higher(colder) clouds-> brighter clouds. Goes: geo stationary ; on same point of the planet. Need to be observed by 3-4 to be able to triangulate the location of the lightning. The signal would be disrupted by lightning, this method is still used to today. Lightning is the bigger killers in the thunderstorm. Isobar: a line that"s playing connect the dots on areas with the same pressure. Area to the right is over 1000 and left is under 1000. Greater than 1000 and within is between 1004-1008. The closer the isobars, the stronger the wind. May give us a map like this and ask what direction the wind is blowing. If wind is at your back the low pressure is on your left.
