Jesus is just hanging out, and then the disciples ask him a difficult question and he gives them a clever answer: his is a case of developed language, jesus and pharisees had a debate about divorce, Jesus and his disciples then later had this discussion: memory of jesus having this debate and internally within the jesus movement.
