Explorations boom in the second half of the 15th century; spain expanded massively in 500 years; spain and portugal end up with territories in all parts of the world. Africa: consequences of exploring the coast and the beginning of the slave trade. Africa is not one homogenised territory the slaves are all from different cultures, enslaved in different ways, processed differently; a mix of religions as well different mentalities. There is a lot of resilience among slaves; they all spoke different languages created creole to communicate. There"s an idea after a generation, that the slaves will rebel and go back to africa, but they don"t know where to go; they instead form quilombos/palenques or slave communities that could last for years.
