Scientists accepts a paradigm an try to extend its scope and accuracy. Most of the time, scientist work together on the same paradigm and try to push it as far as possible. In this process, anomalies come up where for example the method to solve a science fails. Most of these anomalies are xed through tweaking such as modifying a instrument or a calculation or even a theory. This method conserves the paradigm by making these minor changes. In most cases, if there is a anomaly for a speci c case, it is set aside as a anomaly which is not able to be proven at the moment. Even with a persisting anomaly, this doesn"t mean that the whole paradigm is false and that there is a scienti c revolution. If they always discarded a paradigm for each anomaly, they would have nothing to work with so they don"t give up easily.
