Abraham made everything ready for sacrifice, but isaac saw at the last moment the anguish of abraham; this led to isaac"s lost of faith. In each of these cases, abraham is prepared to ignore the ethical and to obey god. This is not what faith is for kierkegaard. Moral: faith has something to do with believing that the giving up, the sacrifice, resignation is actually a receiving, a giving back, from god. The movement of faith is this belief, the belief in the absurd. All four of these abrahams lacked faith; all four did not get issac back. This is why faith is a double movement. Instead, silentio suggests that he can come to talk of the significance of abraham"s act by praising him in a poetic way. Is silentio suggesting that art should step up where reason fails -> nietzschean.
