Summary of article: walkability and nutrition and their effect on childhood obesity in neighborhoods. In the neighborhoods with low walkability and or/no nearby grocery stores, children were more likely to experience obesity. If the experimenters had moved families into different neighborhoods and observe their experience, or move new parks or grocery stores into neighborhoods and observe how this affects families already living in the neighborhood. Simply observation of two variables and their relationship with one another/their effect on one another. Because they did not manipulate anything, we do not know if it"s causal or not. We do know that there is a relationship, though (correlation) Observational study and case study are not mutually exclusive. Often a case study is done over a longer period of time. Studies on people or types of people/groups that we do not see often. A case study is a study that focuses on a single unit.
