Traffic injuries represent one of the largest causes of death among children, adolescents and young adults. Non-lethal injuries: sports, bicycle accidents, household chores, walking, working, passenger driver leisure hobby. Accidental poisonings and falls are the most common causes of death and disability among children under age 5. Providing education and resources about how to keep the home safe is key important for accident prevention in the home. Injury prevention is normally undertaken with parents because they have control over the child"s environment. The leading cause of death from unintentional injury is motorcycle and automobile accidents. Safety measures that have reduced deaths: reducing highway driving speeds, requiring seat bets, placing young children in safety restraint seats, helmet use. Whether or not people follow the enforced laws is another matter. It is approximated that 1 in 4 canadians will die from cancer.
