Im should be associated with commitment, persistence, engagement. With im we have beter emoions, relate more to others etc. Problem is that when you focus on im you will realize that certain things are just not so intrinsically moivaion need kids to sharpen pencils, say morning prayers, sit straight etc. So if you do orient towards im, you will come across require aciviies that are important for kids to follow and to learn about, but these aren"t things that they would choose to pursue on their own. What this means is that there is a host of behaviours, guidelines, values and regulaions that we want children to adopt- but they will not do it on their won. Thus coach has to introduce these behaviours and ind a way for the young person to see value in them and take them on even if they are not im. This process of understanding the value of boring/tedious aciviies is called internalizaion.
