Chicago school -> too little social structure leads to deviance (rapid social change = social disorganization and a breakdown of the normative order) Functionalism -> goes even further: social structure can produce strain that results in deviance (e. g. you wanna go to university, but your poor(social structure), so you cant afford it, so it causes strain)
