Studies all aspects of the biology and behaviour of the human species, (and our closest relatives), past and present. Largely concerned with human biological origins, evolution and variation. Encompasses all aspects of human behaviour and ideas,including subsistence, distribution of goods and services, reproduction and group formation, political patterns, religious systems, forms of communication, and expressive aspects of culture such as art, dance, and music. All examine how change occurs within these areas. Culturally defined: learned, copied behaviour and norms of a particular group. The study of past societies and their cultures using material remains.
