Learned behaviours in a society: learned through family, friends, social media etc. Enculturation is how we learn about what we think is appropriate in a culture. Tend to thin k of culture and our identity as biological. Judgemental about another culture: anthropologists studies have different belief systems which makes it difficult, examples, racism, work done by early missionaries. Anthropologists engage in other"s beliefs and ask questions about it: goal is not to be judgemental. Trying to understand another group of people in their own terms. Understanding a particular issue in relation to gender, for example. Anthropologists tend to work in a collaborative way. Ask questions when things fail and therefore study consumers, sellers, workers etc. Studying individuals intensively for about a year. Following a group of people or living with a group of people. Archaeology/physical anthropology studies ancient remains: not necessarily long-term. An approach to studying different types of people. Determines who we are and what we are to be.
