Hegemony: a system of leadership in which rulers persuade subordinates to accept the ideology of the dominant group by offering mutual accommodations that nevertheless preserve the rulers" privileged position. Relating to rastafari: colonialism form africa home land to jamaica; new language and rules to be learned; becoming slaves. An entity existing outside of human control to be accessed and mobilized through ritual, suffering, hunger strikes, etc. Resistance: the power to reduce being forced against one"s will to conform to someone else"s wishes. Consensus: an agreement to which all parties collectively give their ardent.
