Eco- critical-> form of study, emerged in north america after the 60"s, placed. Don"t think oneness or merger emphasis on understanding the actual places we inhabit, study of domains. Asks ethical and practical questions about the human position on the earth. Seeks to overcome the notion that the human is not the centre of the world. All organisms + humans-> have their basis in and are thriving because of a larger world of energies, forces and beings. We are one of many entities that are co-dependent on the world. The human is not the sole gardener of the world. They are dependent and no more/ no less a part of the process of consumption, decay and degeneration than the other beings on the earth. Indigenous forms of knowledge also decentre us from the earth and environment.
