Globalization: increasing interconnectedness of people and societies around the world. Globalization: a complex combination of economic, political and cultural changes that have long been evident but that have accelerated markedly since about 2980, bringing about a seemingly ever increasing connectedness of both people and places (textbook) Emerging from this definition are two dimensions of globalization: Globalization: processes through which the world is becoming a single world society - a global village. A village is a place where everyone is connected to one another , where everyone gets along where everyone speaks the same language. Globalization: production and consumption of goods and services. A global shopping mall and a global assembly line. The emergence of globalized economy is best illustrated via a rapid growth in world trade. This growth has been facilitated by the ability to shift production to other areas of the world. "made in china" is now ubiquitous: seemingly everything is made there.
