Huge in terms of the west to east extent but also huge in terms in terms of north to south. How big this country is in terms of square kilometers : russia 17 million km2, canada 10 million km2, us 9. 8 million km2, china 9. 6 million km2. The northern territories of russia: they have made a number of claims to the arctic believing that the north pole and various other areas are part of or should be part of russia.
