HLTHAGE 1AA3 Lecture 3: An Introduction to Health Studies
Document Summary
Health and illness have many cultural, social, political and economic dimensions that exend well beyond a bio-medical perspective. This course introduces students to these and the ways in which social sciences have contributed in their understanding. The aim is not to find the definitive answers to any of these questions but to critically reflect on all positions. Practically the aim here is to prepare students for higher level health studies and other courses in the department of health aging and society.
