What happens if two hands are moving to separate targets: either both move to a spot with equal diff, or one goes further and the other shorter and vice vrsa. Both limbs will obey fitt"s law prediction depends on which hand is moving to which target. High index of difficulty for right hand throughout; right hand is consistent with fitt"s law, right hand mt is not changing despite left hand moving. But fitt"s law doesn"t explain: changing mt when rh is a low id task: lh: no task rh mt: 98 ms, lh: low id rh mt: 105 ms, lh: high id mt = 130 ms. When the rh moves to a task of high id, there is no effect of what the lh is doing. When the rh moves to a task of low id, there is a large effect of what the lh is doing: pay more attention to the more difficult task in the left hand.
