Motor performance: how does it develop throughout time: from birth to early years fundamental motor skills, childhood to adolescence basic motor skills, adolescence to adulthood mature motor skills. Throughout each stage, the quality + quantity of motor skills is increasing. Physical fitness a state that allows us to adequately perform the daily functions of life & still have enough energy left to do leisure activities. Composed of: muscle strength & endurance, motor ability, cardiorespiratory endurance. In this chapter, we focus on how we develop strength & motor ability through growth & maturation. Pa increases physical fitness (low correlation, but it is still our best option to improve fitness/reduce obesity) Growth increases physical fitness (high correlation, as you grow bigger, you become stronger/bigger/faster/coordinated . There are many different types of pa: free play, organized sport, exercise. The important thing is that as the pa become more closer towards organized sport, the more likely it will improve physical fitness.
