Do you think there are personality differences based on: sport type, hard to say, team vs. individual, gender. Lindsay and colleagues (2008) defined personality as: the overall organization of psychological characteristics (thinking, feeling and behaving, that differentiates us from others, leads us to act consistently across time and situation. Traits: clusters of behavioral expressions (cognitive and emotional) that are related, relatively stable characteristic or quality that is a portion of one"s personality. States: momentary feeling and thoughts that change depending on the situation and time. If gretzky got in a fight was it because he has an aggressive personality or mores due to the situation. Psychological core ( real person : the most basic and deepest attitudes, values, interests, motives, and self-worth of a person the real person, e. g. self-perception (honest, hard worker etc. ) Typical responses: the way one typically adjusts or responds to the environment, e. g. being shy/easy going.
