Short term memory: rehearsal (working memory, informaion rehearsed for 20-30s may be stored in ltm. Long term memory: informaion stored in mtl is stored permanently (theoreically) retrieval from ltm and rehearsal in stm can strengthen ltm. A skill of athlete increases, informaion conveyed increases.
