Trait: leaders are born with personality traits that lead to success in all situaions. Behaviour: all great leadership behaviours can be learned. Great leaders are born with personality traits that make them ideally suited for leadership in any situaion. Traits are stable characterisics: intelligence, asseriveness, etc. Research was not able to idenify a set of universal leadership traits that apply to all successful leaders. Combinaion of traits (within one coach/muliple coaches) can be efecive in more than one situaion. Anyone can be a great leader by learning the behaviours of an efecive leader. Consideraion: friendly behavior that generates trust, warmth and respect between leader and subordinates, transformaional leadership. Iniiaing structure: emphasis on producion, behavior aimed at organizing group members and establishing roles and procedures to carry out the task, transacional leadership. Funcional model of leadership: can uilize muliple coaches that possess diferent strengths, high/low consideraion with high/low structure. Personality traits/learned behaviours may be efecive in some situaions but not others.
