Document Summary

3d examination of blood flow through arteries & veins after a bolus injection of contrast material. Dynamic assessment of vasculature in a certain roi. With time of flight, looking at flow of blood through vessels but saturate signal coming from surrounding tissue; don"t need contrast in mri, need cm in cta. Useful in imaging the arteries & veins of the entire body. Rule out thrombosis, looking for sinus thrombosis in the head. Groin arterial puncture (risks = bleed, infection of the blood) No sedation required (relieves inherent risks of sedation) Large staffing (6 subspecialities - nurse, rad, tech, doctor, cardio, ?) Patient is prepd - both needs ivs in conventional & cta. No anatomical detail so we can see where things are in relation to a huge aneurysm, for example. If patient is clinically unstable & there is clearly something wrong, they don"t go to ct, they go to conventional.
