Improves up to 75 others: heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, small bowel, pancreas, skin, eyes, bones, heart valves, ligaments, tendons, whole limb transplants. Tissue life enhancement, but not survival. G grave prognosis or gcs 3. F family initiated discussion of donation/ withdrawal. T therapy limited, de-escalation of treatment. Donation after cardiac death: patient has brain injury will not recover. Family made decision to withdraw life support. Family requested organ donation: family(cid:495)s decision to withdraw life support. Patient(cid:495)s status to triggers a call to network. Otdc is called if patient is determined to be potential organ donor. Can be overturned by next of kin. Patients able to consent themselves in certain circumstances: als, chronic bipap, c-spine fractures. Donation process: hla testing, med/soc, organ specific testing, donor management, coordinating with transplant team, coordinating with or. Missed opportunities for tissue donation from death.
