Exams will be brought to tutorial (if you want them back early you can pick them up from the instructor"s office) Exams are not marked by the ta"s (any concerns are to be brought to the professor) Peace profile essay: due in class monday, november 23rd. Final exam: scheduled for wednesday, december 16th 9:00am (all in iwc 2/3) Changes in armed conflict since 1945 (large-scale conflict, war, violent etc. ) Civil or inner-state wars (less war between states) Speed at which war spreads (in # of sides and in geography) New actors, new battlefields, new technologies, new strategies . Power within states, and within the global community: largely about power/control over resources, intertwined with culture, ethnicity, religion. Often not as a root cause, but to mobilize support.
