Since the people in the cave have no idea what the real world is like, all the images they see on the wall of the cave are what they believe is the real world. Tells people that the sensations they perceive as reality is not reality. The worst part is people do not think theyre enslaved. They try to find manufactured patterns in this image of reality: philosophical enlightenment. It is important to leave behind all the familiar comforts of life in order to seek the truth and wisdom: democracy. Democracy is a breeding ground for opinion there"s never been so much opinion in the world since democracies. The citizens in the cave are like people living in a democracy, they are saturated by opinion, and less knowledge. Rationality is the primary attribute of the divine. Gods are wise and rational, the poets who say otherwise must be dismissed.
