I see a tree, i think of a tree. We learn nothing from ideas except how they a ect our bodies. Every idea represents some a ection of a body. Each nite mind is an idea in the in nite mind of god. To know your mind you have to know the full truth about your body; complete explanation of your body. If you know all the facts about the body, you know all the facts about the mind. Mind and body are not di erent interacting entities. A human being is one thing; one modi cation of god. Some of your activity can be explained by material causation. I cannot change a mode of one without that of the other. By modifying one attribute, we modify them all. Any explanation of the mind leads to that of the body and vice-versa. Substance is not mental or physical per se.
