First uses of terrorism came out of the french revolution: first time this term was used. It was first used to describe state terror. Was used in revolutions but also anti-colonialism as well. 9/11 = largest act of international terrorism in regard to state-terrorism problem: we do not hear much about terrorism in the east: we are usually only concerned about it in the west. Major terrorist attacks are usually motivated by p0olitical issues.
