It is intuitive to consider other people"s personalities because their personalities influence your interactions with them and your experiences. A number of theories were proposed to explain personality and these throies have been grouped together into categories: psychodynamic approach, behavioural approach, humanistic approach, cognitive approach, trait approach. Sigmund freud most notable personality theorist and most famous psychologist. Proposed hits psychoanalytic theory in the early 1900s and inspired the psychodynamic approaching. Other theorists in this approach including carl jung and alfred alder were mostly former students, colleagues eventually disagreed and came up with own theories. At the core of freud"s theory is his tripartite model of personality. This model consists of three personality structures: the id, the ego, the superego. The struggle among conscious and unconscious influences represented among these three levels are the majoring motivating forces in humans. Pleasure principle: experience pleasure, avoid pain e. g. want to go to pub but have group work; id motivating to go to pub.
