When thinking of learning, an image of a student in a classroom or someone reading comes to mind. Unconscious learning is reflexive learning and vital to survival of species: a child only needs to touch a hot stove once to learn to avoid glowing red elements to prevent pain and injury. Nicole suffers from chronic headaches that are bad during periods of low atmospheric pressure. The pain from the headaches usually coincide with the first few drops of rain falling to the ground. Recently, nicole noticed that her head begins to throb merely by the sight of a cloudy sky. To alleviate her pain, nicole"s doctor prescribed her a medication which comes in a form of a red pill, that nicole takes daily with her lunch. The side effects of ingesting the red pill are sweaty palms and some nausea but nicole would rather deal with these symptoms than the pain that is associated with her headaches.
