Contingent relationship presentation of one stimulus reliably leads to the presentation of another (learning the relationship between a signal and an event) Unconditional stimulus (us) a natural event that unconditionally and automatically triggers a response in the absence of any learning. Unconditional response (ur) the response that occurs after the unconditional stimulus. Conditional stimulus (cs) paired with the unconditioned stimulus to produce a learned contingency (previously natural stimulus that becomes associated with some unconditional stimulus)
