Mirror neurons respond to the actions of others. Lab in italy, look at motor responses in monkeys. When the monkey reached out and grabbed fruit specific neurons fired in response to this specific action. One day, technician came in and started eating a fruit, the monkey was hooked up and the neurons started firing, the same neurons that fired when he was reaching for the fruit. This monkey doesn"t directly have to do the action, he just needs to watch someone do the action. People who haven"t developed the theory of mind they cant separate out what they know from what others know. Around 4 years of age, where they mastered this idea. Motor responses to interact limbs and space with the world is motor cortex. Different amount of tissue devoted to different parts of out body. Sensory motor responses are still firing when there is no actual sensation. Feel like limb is there when it is not.
