Intro explore relevance of evolutionary biology for psychological sciences biology: science of life. With psychology, goal is to elucidate the adaptive designs of living things. Adaptation: biological traits that help an individual to survive and reproduce in its habitat. Perform a specific function eg. eyes allow you to respond to things around you be detecting + analyzing light adaptations always serve some function in life of the individual. Each of which refers to a task that the mind needs to accomplish to do its job, they refer to the adaptive functions of mental activity. Psychologists are also adaptationists, they find it helpful to break down large-scale cognitive processes and look for the adaptations that solve those problems.
