Constructivist children construct their own intelligence, their own experiences and draw their own knowledge, when they encounter novel objects or situations and they don"t have much to interpretations but are motivated to gure things out. Equilibrium relieves discomfort: kids construct their own knowledge. But within the con nes of what they already know: schemes theories/models of the world. Organization (organize complex schemes that structures and makes sense in the world) Two processes: assimilation plotting a new experience into what you already have, accommodation change schemes to understand a novel stimuli. Summary so far: goal of intelligence is to create a balance between what we know and what we experience, equilibrium, cognitive development is motivated by a sense of discomfort when the balance.
