Separation anxiety disorder - seen in early life. Selective mutism - can speak but elect not to. Speci c phobias - unreasonable fear of a particular class of things. Social phobia (social anxiety disorder) - most common phobia. Excessive anxiety /more days than not/ for 6 months or more, about several events or activities (e. g. school, work, etc) Relatively easy for us to understand the anxiety disorders as a whole as anxiety is common throughout the population to a mild degree. Excessive sets normal apart from disordered; anxiety amount is not warranted by the amount of anxiety. Person nds it dif cult to control the worry. Dif culty falling asleep, staying asleep, or restless sleep. Symptoms cause clinically signi cant distress or impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning". Symptoms not due to other causes (meds, other disorder, etc) Tachycardia (increased or rapid heart rate), sweating, dizziness.
