You should not need anyone else, or depend on anyone else. What we need to do is find our purpose and meaning of our lives. Maslow borrowed this term from buddhism: self awareness. Knowing who we are, and understanding who we are: self development. Using our skills in order to achieve our goals which we have set for ourselves: growth choices. A decision which requires us to grow beyond ourselves, uncertain choice but it helps us grow and learn new skills in the end: trusting judgement. We alone know what is right for us, and we need to believe in our gut judgement. Our parents try to influence who we are and what we become: peak experiences. A very brief and intense period of b cognition. A sense of being in charge of your life: honesty. Accepting full responsibility for our actions and the outcomes they produce. It is your choice, so own it: concentration.
