Non- psychologist: each use views others and interacts with them according ( in part) to a person model of personality. We also view ourselves and our behavior according to the same implicit model. Scientists- believe that understanding personality will give them a greater understanding of people and a greater ability to predict and modify an individual"s characteristic ways of thinking and behaving. They also believe that it immensely shapes the way we feel and think everyday. By underlying personality, scientists are able to understand and possibly predict, modify and control human behavior. Clinicians and therapists- interested in personality because they see personality as the reason for human proves that they are trying to alleviate. A theory of personality serves as a model for treatment and provides a goal for defining wellness. Psychotherapist, counsellors rely and are interested in this topic, as they love to think that human issues/ conflict occur due to problems with personality.
