Humoural theory: hippocrates understanding illness why people got the particular illnesses that they got human body made of 4 substances, or humours. Idiographic approach to personality: wanting to understand individuals on a subjective basis; how people are unique (nomathetic, rule governed: defines most sciences; study individuals to generalize) Personality style of information selection and processing. Habitual related to behaviourists (personality is learned behavior) cognitivists: learned patterns of thought, belief, ways of selecting and interpreting information.
