Document Summary
I was just following orders! - excuse for the worst behaviours. Informational power: some person has compelling information you don"t have, so you just accept it (don"t have to be right, but in your mind they know what they"re doing) Conform even when disagree with what you"re doing. Changing your responses b/c of pressure from others in a non-ambiguous situation: compliance, conforming to the requesting b/c they have power over you, making a choice to do what others want you do do + consequence, e. g. mugging. Identification: make you want to conform to someone b/c you like them in some way, e. g. everyone in a group smokes. Our need to do the right thing, make the correct decision - but you don"t know what that is so you conform to what others say it is. Gathering information to learn the correct response in an ambiguous situation. The desire to make the right choice is different.
