The scientific study of how people"s affect, behaviors, and cognitions are influenced by the presence, real or imagined, of at least one other person. Hindsight bias - saying you could have predicted knowledge. Is a formal way of asking and answering questions to get the most accurate, objective information possible and sidestep the inaccuracy of our common sense beliefs and assumptions . We should always test because what we think may be common sense may be wrong. Theory may change over time as society progresses. How are two or more variables related. Ex. correlated personality scores with an attitude or behaviour. Ex. elevation lx. elevation level and athletic achievementtemperature and crime statistics. Correlation = (= with the line in the middle) causation confounds something explaining a and b. C: something else going on the lead to a or b. Done in a lab under strict, controlled conditions. Independent variable (iv) is manipulated by the experimenter.
