Gorilla is not very articulate in the use of signs. Claim that they could recombine signs in novel ways. Wosho the gorilla learned 200 words in sign language. Koko was a captive gorilla for her whole life: born in san francisco zoo, still a wild animal lives in a suberb of san fransicsco, taught by penny patterson to use american sign language. Koko can produce 300 words but understand 600: can possible know up to 500 words compared to a human who knows.
