Chaos has to destroy in order to create life: is death chaos or is the opposite of chaos, death? water it is seen as a divine favour. Many stories where chaos waters are subdued. Life moves through stages of order and chaos. If there"s going to be life, there"s also going to be chaos. Chaos waters can be destructive or creative when a god or human can manipulate. Stories of floods genesis; rains for 150, 40 days. One deity given all power and knowledge, lead to monsters needing to be explained in a new way: monsters had to be created by deity, or had to be under deities control/power. Need water to survive but too much water and we drown: paradox. Monsters were allowed to threaten happiness only if god said it was okay, suffering had to be morally justified. Not to seek a comprehensive view: not given whole story.
