Globalizaion-religious knowledge not conined to insituions or tradiional modes of authority. Instead of ulama-educated laity asserted its role in the community. Ulama are out of touch with reality-create a new breed of charismaic preachers in west. Rise of internet as a communicaion tool-the availability of middle eastern channels of satellite telivision. Proliferaion (abundance) of literature has changed the face of islam.
