Globalized islam refers to how relationship of muslims to islam is reshaped by living in a global world. How believers interact with a religion where traditional forms of authority to no longer hold. More muslims living in diaspora (living away from home) communities than at any time in history. Globalization has blurred boundaries between religion, a specific culture or society and territory. It has deterritorialized muslims; islam no longer confined to a particular territory. Deterritorialization due to migration of a huge proportion of muslims. Deterritorialization also means detachment of culture from territory. Encounter with a majority that espouses different culture has led to the deculturation of the muslim world.
