Growth of government jobs - public service sector. Many jobs involve physical labour and more mental or emotional qualities. Cost of living increased so, women work to bring in another source of income. Reasons for increase in female labour force participation. Unionization has been on the decline because of the rise of non-standard employment. Financial rewards linked to importance of job. Banana time - roy found meaning in this game where someone would take a banana out of someone"s bag and hide it. He compared this to workers and it helped workers cope and made the day better with their work when it was always repetitive. Marx said humans are creative and not letting them be fully creative by them being blocked from doing this because of workplace guidelines is alienating them. Ex regular bakery vs grocery store baking, there"s no freedom/ creativity in a grocery store, all guidelines that tells you what to do.
