We can use social science research to gather data on certain questions and answer them. Lobbies (influence politicians, small business owners and big owners use lobbies to make decisions) Society is made of different social groups (very different interests) Significant inequalities in wealth and who has political influence. 40 % of canadian prime ministers, primers and cabinet ministers were born into the richest 10 % Economic elite, political elite and military are very important (major actors in world, major opinion on whether country should go to war or not) A lot of money made by going through war. Moore is show that military officers don"t come from political or economic elite (come from lower socio economic background) Some say yes because there is a time period between them coming and becoming a citizen (more worried about work and fitting in) They also have more interest and this should allow them to fit in also.
